Hi! This is Senator Howard Marklein, representing the 17th Senate District in southwestern Wisconsin.
Just recently, 10-year-old Madelyn Slaney of Black Earth, shot a 25 point buck on her Grandpa Pat Slaney’s land in Richland County during the Youth Hunt. I am proud that my district produced such a tremendous buck and experience for this young lady!
Madelyn’s experience is a great example of just one of the reasons I support the legislature’s Sporting Freedom package of bills. This package of legislation is about simplifying the DNR rules and regulations, so whether you’re a seasoned hunter, angler or new to the sport, you can be sure that you purchased the right licenses, permits or tags to be part of the sporting culture in Wisconsin. We must preserve and enhance Wisconsin’s sporting heritage.
The Sporting Freedom package of bills is very timely as hunters return to the fields, set-up their stands and harvest wild game all over Wisconsin. I am proud to be a part of this effort to protect and defend our sporting freedoms and heritage.
