Senator Steve Nass (R-Whitewater) issued the following statement today regarding the
Wisconsin State Supreme Court ruling that Governor Tony Evers had once again acted
unlawfully in issuing multiple Covid-19 emergency declarations and statewide mask mandates.

Senator Nass was the author of Senate Joint Resolution 3 which was adopted by both houses of  the Legislature in February ending Evers’ Emergency Declaration #104:

“Once again, Governor Tony Evers and his administration has been found by the
state’s highest court to be in willful violation of state law. Governor Evers has been
trying to rule this state like a king since March 2020.

Governor Evers has shown repeated hostility towards the civil liberties of the people of
this state. He and his advisers have attempted to shred constitutional limitations on
government powers by moving to control every aspect of our daily lives by fiat for the
last year.

Despite today’s victory for civil liberties, I have no doubt that Evers and his minions
are not done yet. They will now focus their energies on organizing further
infringements on civil liberties through excessive actions by liberal-leaning local
governments and public health officials.”
