Madison, WI – As a follow up to last week’s release of the non-partisan Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau’s report highlighting the litany of issues with the administration of the November 3, 2020 election, Senator Duey Stroebel (R-Saukville) issued the following statement calling for the resignation of Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) Administrator Meagan Wolfe:

“In the aftermath of the Legislative Audit Bureau’s findings, I see no scenario where our state’s election system can properly function without the removal of Meagan Wolfe from the top post at the Wisconsin Elections Commission. The time has come for Meagan Wolfe to resign.”

“The LAB report only served to confirm what had been made clear months ago. The same state agency the legislature entrusted with administering our election laws instead took it upon itself to re-write or outright ignore many of these laws, which served to directly undermine the integrity of the November 3, 2020 election in Wisconsin. All of this took place under the leadership of Meagan Wolfe, who has done anything but fulfill the commitment she made to the Senate in 2019 to faithfully carry out Wisconsin’s election laws.”

Sen. Duey Stroebel (R-Saukville) represents the 20th Senate District, which is comprised of portions of Ozaukee, Washington, Fond du Lac, Sheboygan and Calumet counties.
