JANESVILLE, Wis. – Dec. 20, 2021– Spectrum representatives today presented donations to the Janesville and Edgerton police departments to support their community policing efforts. Spectrum’s $7,000 donation to the Janesville Police Department will facilitate specialized policing training for more than 50 officers. Spectrum’s $5,000 donation to the Edgerton Police Department will equip multiple squad cars with updated computers.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is a tradition in our company,” said Jane Rhodes,
Senior Vice President of Corporate Physical Security at Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand of broadband, video, mobile and voice services. “We are proud to provide funding to the Janesville and Edgerton police departments as they help keep our communities safe.”

Spectrum’s donation to the Edgerton Police Department will support upgrading technology.

“This grant comes at a critical time when the Edgerton Police Department currently needs to update the laptop computers in the squad cars,” said Robert Kowalski, Chief of the Edgerton Police Department. “Spectrum is going the extra mile to give back to communities they serve and through donations like this, our department can better serve the community and citizens with the latest technology.”

Spectrum’s donation to the Janesville Police Department, facilitated through the Young
Women’s Christian Association, will fund training by a nationally recognized expert in problem-oriented policing. “A foundational value of the Janesville Police Department is problem-solving,” said Chief David Moore of the Janesville Police Department. “Officers strive to determine the core issues of police calls for service and proactively address these issues.

This perspective offers better service for our citizens, provides for a more safe community and reduces calls for service.”

“I commend Spectrum for their efforts to support the Janesville and Edgerton Police
Departments,” said Sen. Ringhand. “By working together, we make our communities stronger and safer.”
