The Greater Milwaukee 9/11 Remembrance Committee, which includes members from the Milwaukee Fire Department and surrounding fire departments, has prepared a memorable day-long tribute to those firefighters who lost their life on that tragic day in 2001.

WHERE: Fiserv Forum’s Deer District, Vel R. Phillips & West Juneau Avenue (masks & social distancing recommended)

12:00 p.m. Opening Ceremony
1:00 p.m. Formal Ceremony (approximately 45 minutes in length, which will
include the reading of the 343 fallen FDNY names)
4:00 p.m. Musical Performance Milwaukee High School of the Arts Choir
7:08 p.m. Sunset in Milwaukee
8:08 p.m. Closing Ceremony

The Milwaukee community and surrounding communities are encouraged to come out and share in this day of remembrance. In addition to the above listed events there will be a display of gear honoring the 343 firefighters who lost their life that day, a candle display for the 247 fallen members of the FDNY due to subsequent cancer-related deaths, an apparatus display from Milwaukee and surrounding communities, plus other items for the community to see. Please come and honor those firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice on one of America’s saddest days.
