GOP Prosecutor is Law Enforcement’s Choice; Tops 90 Endorsements

[Racine, WI…]  Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney collected yet another law enforcement endorsement for his attorney general campaign with the addition of the Racine Police Association.

Todd Hoover, President of the Racine Police Association, said District Attorney Toney was the best choice to lead the Wisconsin Department of Justice during an unprecedented wave of violent crime and homicides. Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling endorsed District Attorney Toney recently as well.

“Law enforcement needs a leader at the DOJ who knows how to fight crime, put violent criminals behind bars, and protect Wisconsin families.  Eric Toney is that leader, and the Racine Police Association is endorsing his campaign for attorney general,” said President Hoover.  “The men and women on the frontlines of law enforcement deserve a ‘top cop’ that refuses to play politics and instead will make the safety and security of Wisconsin his top priority.”

In addition to the Racine Police Association, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney is endorsed by the Milwaukee Police Association and the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police who combined represent nearly 4,000 members of the law enforcement community.

“I am the only candiate in this race that has personally prosecuted cases in Wisconsin courtrooms and used the resources of the DOJ in those prosecutions to hold violent criminals accountable. That’s the experience Wisconsin needs, not career politicians,” said District Attorney Eric Toney.  “Law enforcement officials have endorsed my campaign because they want someone who is a prosecutor, not a politician, and will partner with them to protect the people of Wisconsin and I’m honored to have their support.”

More than 90 sheriffs, district attorneys and police chiefs have now endorsed District Attorney Eric Toney in his bid for Wisconsin attorney general.
