WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Scott Fitzgerald (WI-05) issued the following statement after Democrats voted to suspend our nation’s debt ceiling for the third time over the past month, writing a blank check for their multi-trillion dollar partisan agenda:
“Democrats have embarked on a massive and unprecedented deficit spending spree since taking control of Congress and the White House. Without a single Republican vote they passed a $1.9 trillion ‘COVID relief’ bill back in March, and they have a combined $5.5 trillion infrastructure and budget reconciliation package in the pipeline as well. It’s unfortunate that Democrats want American taxpayers to give them a blank check to fund President Biden and Speaker Pelosi’s socialist agenda. I certainly wont stand for this or aid them in creating trillions of dollars in new debt,” said Congressman Fitzgerald.
