WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today released the following statement after a group of Houthis stormed the U.S. embassy in Yemen and took hostages and equipment.
“Earlier this year, the Biden administration revoked the Houthis’ designation as a terrorist organization. This week, the Houthis thanked the administration by storming the US Embassy in Yemen and taking hostages. Rather than building on the historic Abraham Accords and working with our allies in the region, the Biden administration seems bent on repeating Obama-era mistakes in the Middle East that will only invite chaos and distract from our ability to focus on the Chinese Communist Party.”
