LA CROSSE – Today, Rep. Ron Kind visited the vaccination clinic at UW-La Crosse Cleary Alumni & Friends Center to tour the facility alongside UW-La Crosse Chancellor Joe Gow and WI DHS Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk.

“The COVID-19 vaccination clinic at UW-La Crosse is an amazing example of what we can accomplish when we come together as a community. I was so impressed by the health care professionals, public health experts, and university leadership who have worked hard to ensure this facility is able to quickly and efficiently deliver these lifesaving shots to Wisconsinites,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “I encourage every Wisconsinite to get their COVID-19 vaccine as soon as they’re eligible. Together, we can end this pandemic and get back to our Wisconsin way of life.”

On March 10, 2021 Rep. Kind voted to pass the American Rescue Plan, which includes historic investments to help get vaccines in arms. The American Rescue Plan directs $7.5 billion to state, local, and territorial health officials to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine, including establishing community vaccination sites and sharing information about the vaccine. Additionally, this legislation includes $6.5 billion to bolster the supply chain for vaccines and $7.66 billion to build up the public health workforce.

La Crosse County’s Community Based Vaccination Site at UW-La Crosse Cleary Alumni & Friends Center is open Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
