Manitowoc, WI – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin visited Broadwind Heavy Fabrications, one of the largest employers in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Following a tour of the facilities, the Senator spoke to manufacturers about clean energy tax incentives and how renewable energy can take on the climate crisis.

“Employees at Broadwind are hard at work on full-scope manufacturing projects, building some of the largest and most complex structures and components in the world,” said Senator Baldwin. “The strong Buy America standards I was able to include in the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will help companies like Broadwind expand and be a key partner in rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure.”

“Broadwind Heavy Fabrications was thrilled to host Senator Baldwin and show why our motto is ‘Think Big,’” said Eric Blashford, President and CEO of Broadwind Inc. “We believe in our workforce and in investing in America and the Senator shows great interest in and support for the American worker. Buy America provisions in public infrastructure projects just make sense.”

Baldwin has championed investing in Wisconsin’s clean energy economy. In Congress, Baldwin has a long record of supporting innovations in technology to drive a Made in Wisconsin economy that spurs job creation in the energy sector.

Baldwin voted for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, bipartisan legislation that makes a major investment in clean energy transmission and the creation of renewable energy jobs. The bill also includes strong Buy American standards that Senator Baldwin pushed for to support Wisconsin workers, manufactures, and businesses.
