HOLLANDALE, Wis. — Pecatonica Area School District Superintendent and candidate for Wisconsin State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly has advanced to the general election for State Superintendent of Public Instruction as one of the top two vote-getters in the Primary Election held today.

“This campaign is about making sure every student has access to the high-quality education they deserve, every day,” said Dr. Underly. “Wisconsin’s public schools are plagued by inequity, and every student and every school needs more support to climb back from this pandemic. We need to safely open the schools, and close our widening opportunity gaps. I am looking forward to sharing my vision and talking with any voter who is willing in the next seven weeks.”

Dr. Underly was the top choice of Wisconsin’s public school families, educators, and elected officials who support strong local schools that serve the needs of every child.

“Wisconsin has long counted on the Superintendent to ensure that schools comply with curricular, financial, and administrative requirements, but the moment has come for the office to be a true champion of educational equity and investment in every student,” said Dr. Underly. “We now face a choice: elect someone who wants to make sure every student has a great school and real opportunity, or someone who wants to divide us, waste our precious resources and pick winners and losers among our students. I am the candidate that is firmly on the side of children in our schools, our students’ parents, and our educators.

“We can fix the funding formula, support the needs of kids so they can learn, solve our transportation problems, and ensure we attract and retain the best teachers,” said Dr. Underly. “I’m looking forward to making my case to the people of Wisconsin and getting to work on day one as Wisconsin’s next State Superintendent of Public Instruction.”
