Return of Veterans Day Parade will be held this November in downtown Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce announced Thursday that it is leading a community coalition to host the Wisconsin Veterans Day Parade this November in Milwaukee. The Wisconsin Veterans Day Celebration will feature a revived parade with a new parade route, partnerships and promotions from area businesses, and a festival with live entertainment, vendors, and resources for veterans and their families.

“Wisconsin’s veteran business community is proud play a leading role in organizing this celebration of the service and sacrifice made by Wisconsin’s military veterans and their families,” said Saul Newton, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce. “This will be the state’s premiere Veterans Day celebration, bringing veterans and their families from around the state to Milwaukee for a day of celebration and festivities.”

The last Veterans Day Parade was held in 2019, following an announcement from organizers Honor Our Military, Inc. they would no longer plan the event. No parade was held in 2020 due to the COVID19 pandemic, but organizers are confident that a successful parade will be possible as vaccinations increase and gathering restrictions are gradually lifted.

“As life returns to normal, it’s a privilege to ensure that our community and our state have the opportunity to show their appreciation for veterans across Wisconsin,” concluded Newton. “Their service, and their continued contributions to communities in all corners of the state, deserves to be observed and celebrated.”

More information about the Wisconsin Veterans Day Celebration, including parade and festival details, will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information about the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, visit wiveteranschamber.org.
