(Waukesha, Wisconsin) – On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, the Waukesha County Circuit Court Judges unanimously selected and appointed Monica Paz to the position of Clerk of Circuit Court.  Monica has been serving as the interim Clerk of Circuit Court since May 8, 2020 when the position was vacated by her predecessor to serve in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.  She has presented invaluable organizational and leadership skills during her entire tenure with the Clerk of Courts Office, but especially during a very difficult period due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Monica has 22 years of experience with Waukesha County and holds an Associates degree from Waukesha County Technical College in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch. Monica has experience in all divisions of the Clerk of Courts Office– Criminal/Traffic, Family, Civil, and Juvenile.  She had been a leader in many projects involving justice system partners, including the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, Waukesha County Jail, Public Defender’s Office, and the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office. She is well respected and known for her abilities to problem solve and collaborate

Albeit a challenging time to take on a new position, Monica is humbled and honored to accept the appointment. “I am thankful for this opportunity to continue to serve the citizens of Waukesha as the Clerk of Circuit Court. I am committed to working to continue moving the Waukesha County justice system forward together with all our justice system partners.”

In announcing this appointment, Chief Judge Jennifer R. Dorow stated, “All of the Waukesha County judges are excited to work with Monica as the Clerk of Circuit Court for Waukesha County and to see her continue to lead the Waukesha County Clerk’s office at a most critical time.”
