MADISON – Wisconsin Conservation Voters applauds President Joe Biden’s announcement of the Build Back Better Framework.

This is an important step toward passing historic and transformative legislation that will focus on climate change, good paying clean energy jobs, and environmental justice.

The framework is a victory for conservation legislation and the result of intensive work by conservation voters and supporters and their commitment to a Build Back Better plan with strong climate provisions.

Wisconsin will benefit from the Build Back Better Act. It will assist the transition to clean energy, build climate resiliency, and create thousands of jobs while centering on communities of color and climate justice.

Local elected officials from around Wisconsin have demonstrated how their communities will benefit from a Build Back Better Act with strong climate provisions and Wisconsin Conservation Voters urges Congress to adopt this framework and pass this historic legislation.

Executive Director Kerry Schumann had this to say of the historic framework:

“Today, after thousands of Wisconsinites and millions across the nation demanded action, the president has finally announced a framework with the strongest action the United States has ever taken to combat the climate crisis. This framework represents years of work from conservation voters – from Superior to Milwaukee – to put the U.S. on the path to cutting our climate pollution in half by 2030, invest directly in communities of color too often left behind, and create good-paying union jobs. Congress must swiftly pass the Build Back Better Act and send it to President Biden to sign into law. This is a historic day for people and the planet. We expect Wisconsin’s entire delegation to support this framework that improves the lives of every Wisconsinite and eagerly await a final vote in Congress.”
