Madison, Wisconsin — The Wisconsin Veterans of Foreign Wars is teaming up with leading health and well-being company Humana (NYSE: HUM) to help with community activities to serve Veterans in Wisconsin.
Humana’s Veteran Community Engagement Executive Tim Delaney announced Humana’s collaboration with the Wisconsin VFW at the recent VFW State Convention.
The Wisconsin VFW is seeking sponsors for its upcoming Centennial Celebration at its State Convention in June 2022 at the Potawatomi Hotel in Milwaukee. Humana is one of the sponsors of the event.
“Humana values our community efforts with VFW posts and is proud to support the Wisconsin VFW,” Delaney said. “We took the opportunity to not only sponsor the upcoming celebration in Milwaukee, but we look forward to a close collaboration at the post-level throughout the next year to assist with fund-raising and other community activities planned to serve Veterans in Wisconsin. It gives pride to our employees across Wisconsin to support Veterans where they live.”
Humana is committed to strengthening its longstanding relationship with the military community. With health at the core of everything it does, Humana is dedicated to helping veterans and their families achieve lifelong well-being. Humana launched the Uniting to Combat Hunger campaign with the VFW and Feeding America. This campaign has provided more than 1.5 million meals across the country for communities, veterans, and their families through a series of fundraisers and events.
The Wisconsin VFW’s first State Convention was held in June 1921 in Milwaukee. This year marked the 100th Anniversary, but the celebration was postponed until 2022.
“We had our first Convention in Milwaukee 100 years ago and we want to bring the tradition of that back to its origins,” said Cory Geisler, Iraq War Veteran, and Wisconsin VFW State Commander. “We are very fortunate that Humana has teamed up with us at the state-level and we look forward to making our Centennial Celebration a grand event conducting business, recognizing our Wisconsin heroes, and having some fun.”
