MADISON, Wis. — According to this morning’s job report, the U.S. added 850,000 jobs in June as hiring rebounded thanks to President Biden’s economic recovery efforts, the success of Congressional Democrats’ American Rescue Plan, and small business relief efforts from leaders like Governor Evers. This growth is echoed across the country:

- Business Insider: Every job lost in the pandemic will come back by the middle of next year, the government’s official scorekeeper says
- ABC News: US jobless claims fall to 364,000, a new pandemic low
Thanks to President Biden and Gov. Evers, Wisconsin is on the road to economic recovery, which is further supported by yesterday’s report that US jobless claims have dropped to a new low since the start of the pandemic.
Paired with economic recovery, COVID-19 cases are now at an all-time low — this week, the Wisconsin Hospital Association reported that less than 100 people are currently hospitalized for COVID-19, a milestone in pandemic recovery that hasn’t been seen since last August.
The difference between Wisconsin Republicans in Congress and Wisconsin Democrats when it comes to helping working families and small businesses through the pandemic could not be more evident. While Wisconsin Republican leaders like Senator Ron Johnson and likely gubernatorial candidate Rebecca Kleefisch continue to peddle baseless conspiracy theories and dangerous lies to advance their own political agenda, President Biden, Gov. Evers, and Wisconsin Democrats are staying focused on helping working families and doing the important work for Wisconsin. Just this week, President Biden visited Wisconsin to further show his commitment to working families across the state.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Julia Hamelburg released the following statement:
“The people of Wisconsin elected President Joe Biden because they knew he was the right person to lead our country out of this pandemic — and he has delivered. Since taking office five months ago, President Biden has worked hand in hand with Governor Evers and Congressional Democrats to put Wisconsin on the fast track toward economic recovery, and today’s jobs report is just further evidence we’re building back better in the Badger State. Governor Evers has already announced millions in small business relief, rural broadband funding, and investments in the tourism industry. But we can’t let up now — this is the moment to continue rebuilding a new economy that works for every Wisconsinite.”
“As we move into the summer and celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend, Wisconsin families across the state are reuniting with loved ones and businesses are getting back on track — all thanks to the dedicated leadership of President Biden and Gov. Evers.”
