MADISON, Wis. — Yesterday, the Capital Times issued a blistering rebuke of Michael Gableman that called on Speaker Robin Vos to “shut down this bogus investigation” and “end the boondoggle.”

The editorial, which comes on the heels of Michael Gableman admitting he doesn’t understand how elections work and issuing offensive comments on far-right radio comparing reporting to Nazi propaganda, said that Gableman “should not be encouraged to embarrass himself any longer — at least not at taxpayer expense.”

Last Friday, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler called on Vos to fire Gableman because of his offensive comments and waste of taxpayer dollars.

“Robin Vos and Michael Gableman are the worst circus act Wisconsin has ever seen. Their sham ‘investigation’ has done nothing but waste taxpayers’ dollars while Michael Gableman finds a new way to discredit this boondoggle every day, ” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Iris Riis. “Regardless of how much taxpayer money or credibility Robin Vos and Michael Gableman waste, the facts are clear: President Biden won Wisconsin last year in a fair and secure election. It’s time to shut down this bogus investigation.”

Capital Times: End Michael Gableman’s election ‘investigation’ boondoggle

Michael Gableman has a question for the governor of Wisconsin:

“I would like to ask Tony Evers how is it a boondoggle for the people of Wisconsin to find out if their elections were run fairly?” asks the scandal-plagued former jurist who is “investigating” the 2020 election on behalf of Donald Trump and Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos. “What’s the alternative? The alternative is looking the other way.”

Gableman, a hysteric who compares serious reporting on his own statements with Nazi and Soviet propaganda, should be recognized as the troubled man that he is. He should not be encouraged to embarrass himself any longer — at least not at taxpayer expense.

Cut off Gableman’s state funding. Shut down this bogus investigation. End the boondoggle.
