MADISON, Wis. — Today, Governor Tony Evers announced more than $140 million in grants to businesses in Wisconsin’s tourism and entertainment industries to help them recover from the pandemic. Some of the businesses who will benefit include movie theaters, live event small businesses, minor league sports teams, summer camps, and other businesses that were hit hard by the pandemic.
On top of today’s investment, Gov. Evers has already directed $600 million to small business relief, including a $420 million grant program, and $100 million to bring universal broadband coverage to Wisconsin families. Previously Gov. Evers also signed a small business tax cut of more than $500 million to support the state’s economic recovery.
These investments are funded by President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, passed by Democrats in Congress without the support of a single Wisconsin Republican. Together, Gov. Evers, President Biden, and congressional Democrats are fighting to ensure hardworking Wisconsinites from every corner of the state can bounce back better from the pandemic.

Evers recognizes the important role Wisconsin’s tourism industry plays in our economy,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Kayla Anderson. “These new grants will quickly help Wisconsin’s tourism and entertainment businesses bounce back from the pandemic. Wisconsinites can continue to count on Gov. Evers to put them first as he leads the state forward and helps our families, small businesses, and communities bounce back better than before.”
