Madison, Wis. — Instead of doing the job that Wisconsinites elected him to do, Ron Johnson spent the weekend on Fox News continuing to push his self-serving political agenda by spreading misinformation about COVID and furthering the dysfunction and gridlock in D.C.
Here’s what Johnson was focusing on this weekend — while he was ignoring the priorities of Wisconsin’s working families:
- Johnson continued spreading outright lies about COVID-19 pandemic by continuing to encourage individuals to take Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug commonly used as a livestock dewormer that has poisoned Wisconsinites, and claiming the life saving vaccine has not been studied as well as questioning if the vaccine should be widely administered.
- His latest comments about Ivermectin come days after he was on right-wing radio discouraging pregnant people from getting vaccinated, despite the data and evidence showing the vaccine is incredibly safe for expecting parents, as it protects them and their child.
- Johnson also admitted that he was “praying” for gridlock in Washington to prevent the passage of legislation that would support Wisconsinites and the state’s economy.
“Johnson keeps making it abundantly clear that he is not willing to focus on the job Wisconsinites elected him to do. Instead, Johnson’s priority is undermining medical professionals trying to keep Wisconsinites safe and adding to the dysfunction and gridlock in D.C.,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Senate Communications Advisor Philip Shulman said. “Johnson just keeps showing he’s only focused on his own fringe political agenda — not the challenges Wisconsinites care about.”
