MADISON, Wis. — Today, thanks to President Biden and Democrats in Congress, over one million parents in Wisconsin are receiving another installment of the expanded Child Tax Cut. Each month, Wisconsin parents see an average of $447 in tax cuts, giving middle-class families more breathing room at the end of each month.

These payments build on Gov. Evers’ commitment to lowering taxes for working families. Earlier this year, Gov. Evers signed a $450 million small business tax cut and provided more than $2 billion in individual income tax relief for middle-class Wisconsinites. Since taking office, Gov. Evers has cut middle-class taxes by a cumulative 15 percent.

To celebrate the distribution of November payments, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement:

“The opportunity to raise children is a wonderful gift—and an expensive one. Now, because of the tax cuts from the American Rescue Plan, Wisconsin families can breathe a little bit easier about the cost. Thanks to leadership from President Biden and Governor Evers, families have more financial support tor pay for child care, health care, groceries, and extracurricular activities—or just having a financial cushion for the unexpected. As a parent myself, and as someone who has spoken to parents across the state, I know what a difference these funds make. Come 2022, voters will not forget that Republicans in Congress stood in unified opposition to middle-class tax cuts—or that Democrats delivered.”
