[Madison, WI] – Today, Empower Wisconsin reported that Milwaukee County residents have filed an official complaint asking for the removal of Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, who admitted that his office’s bail recommendation for Darrell Brooks was “inappropriately low.” While calls for Chisholm’s ouster have mounted, Tony Evers has refused to let Wisconsinites know where he stands on the issue.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement from Executive Director Mark Jefferson:
“After three years of turning a blind eye to a growing crime problem, Tony Evers needs to take action and hold officials in charge of public safety responsible when they don’t do their jobs. The results of inaction can be tragic.”
