[Madison, WI] – Maripat Krueger of Dunn County has been elected National Committeewoman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin, replacing longtime National Committeewoman Mary Buestrin. In addition, African American Council Chairman Gerard Randall has been elected First Vice Chairman of the state party.
Buestrin steps down from the Committeewoman post after 29 years of service. First elected in 1992, she has been an outstanding representative for grassroots activists and the WisGOP thanks her for her many years of strong leadership.
“Mary is a state and national Republican treasure, leading the way on the Republican National Committee for decades,” said former chair of the Republican National Committee and Republican Party of Wisconsin Reince Priebus. “She helped me beyond measure in rebuilding the new modern Republican Party. She is one of the most trusted and intelligent behind the scenes party leaders that I was blessed to have by my side.”
Maripat Krueger, of Menomonie, is a former county chair and has previously served as third congressional district chair and vice chair of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.
“Maripat Kreuger has been a tireless worker, promoting conservatism at the state and local level for decades,” said Buestrin. “A grassroots activist at heart, she will be an outstanding voice for Wisconsin at the national level.”
Also elected was Gerard Randall, of Milwaukee, who will serve as First Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. Randall, a dedicated Republican leader, also serves as African American Council Chairman for the WisGOP. Previously, Randall served in the administration of Governor Tommy Thompson and, among his many accomplishments, is a former member of the UW Board of Regents.
“Gerard Randall has been a courageous conservative leader for years, and has worked tirelessly to grow the Republican Party and spread our message of freedom and opportunity. Gerard’s expanded leadership role will be a tremendous asset to the Republican Party of Wisconsin,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Andrew Hitt. “Republicans across Wisconsin will benefit tremendously from his counsel.”
