Barnes Campaign: Under fire, Ron Johnson tries to rewrite his Affordable Care Act record

MADISON — Yesterday, Ron Johnson said that Republicans should repeal the Affordable Care Act if they regain the majority during an interview on Breitbart Radio. During the same interview, he endorsed a plan that would raise taxes on 1 in 3 Wisconsinites and jeopardize Medicare and social security. Hours after the interview, Johnson released a consultant-driven hostage statement painfully backtracking on his longstanding position, despite the fact that he has been pushing the most extreme ACA repeal options for years. In response, Maddy McDaniel, communications director for Mandela Barnes for Wisconsin, made the following statement: “Anyone who still needs proof Ron Johnson is terrified of this election, look no

Waukesha County: Statement from Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow on the passing of his mother, former Lieutenant Governor Margaret Farrow

Today I am heartbroken to share the passing of my mother Margaret Farrow. She was resting peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. I feel fortunate and blessed to have been raised by one of my personal heroes. Mom was a lifelong public servant. Her service to her community and State spanned almost fifty years, starting with her time on the Elm Grove Board of Appeals to Village President. From municipal government, she rose to represent Waukesha County in the State Assembly, then the State Senate, before becoming Wisconsin’s first female Lieutenant Governor. That work doesn’t scratch the surface of

Inside Wisconsin: “Expectations for Russian oil ban may be too high all around”

By Tom Still MADISON, Wis. – A ban on U.S. imports of Russian oil has been urged by Republicans and Democrats alike in Washington, not to mention Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but everyone involved should temper expectations of what it will mean.   Zelenskyy hopes President Biden’s move will help bring Vladimir Putin to his knees and end the assault on his country, but other nations are far more reliant on Russian oil than the United States, which imported about 8% of its oil and refined products from Russia last year. Crude oil imports alone were more like 4%. Some
