Hi, this is Representative Sondy Pope with this week’s Democratic Radio Address.

One thing we can all agree on is that we all want our children to succeed and become productive members of our communities. As Governor Evers likes to say, what is best for our kids is what is best for our state. As a former teacher and DPI Secretary, he knows how hard our teachers work every day to make sure our children are prepared for the future.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please consider reaching out to your sons’ or daughters’ teachers to let them know how much you appreciate what they do. Or reach out to a teacher who played a part in making you the person you are today. I don’t have to tell anyone how difficult teaching is. And COVID has only made that job even harder. But our teachers are still happily opening students’ minds to new ideas, encouraging them to think critically, inspiring them to dream big – teaching them to be good people and good Wisconsinites. So I hope you’ll join me and express your appreciation for those people who have made it their life’s work to educate our children.
