Madison, Wisconsin, August 8, 2022 – 350 Wisconsin Action – a grassroots organization committed to electing climate champions and pushing for just solutions to the climate crisis at every level of government – is excited to endorse Tony Evers for Wisconsin Governor and Mandela Barnes for US Senate.

As Governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers has been a strong advocate for decisive climate action, and he has continued to promote climate justice despite facing a challenging landscape with an often-hostile state legislature. His Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change and the state’s first Clean Energy Plan were major steps forward for climate action in Wisconsin, and we look forward to continued climate action from Governor Evers.

Mandela Barnes will be an important voice for climate action in the US Senate. As Lieutenant Governor, he played an invaluable role in moving the Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change forward. We applaud his commitment to ensuring that the transition to a livable future is just and equitable for all. It’s past time for Wisconsin to replace Ron Johnson with a Senator who has the best interests of all Wisconsinites in mind.

John Greenler, Executive Director of 350 Wisconsin Action, says, “with the nation’s eyes on Wisconsin as a key battleground state in the upcoming midterm elections, we’re excited to be able to endorse two strong climate champions for the offices of Governor and US Senator.  Governor Evers’ continued leadership on climate and a sustainable economy for Wisconsin will be crucial for our state in the next few years. As Senator, we look forward to Mandela Barnes continuing his track record as a powerful voice for progressive policies centered on justice and a sustainable world for all.”

350 Wisconsin Action is an unstoppable movement of everyday people from diverse communities around Wisconsin, working together for justice and an end to the climate crisis. We are committed to electing climate champions at every level of government, and we challenge local, state, and federal government officials and agencies to rapidly implement the far-reaching changes and solutions we need.
