Madison, Wisconsin, April 21 – As Earth Day approaches, 350 Madison Climate Action Team is excited to announce that as of 4/22, we will officially be known as 350 Wisconsin: Together for the Climate!  In 2021, 350 Madison was named as one of Dane County’s Climate Champions, but our work has increasingly taken us beyond Dane County. We are eager to work with communities around the state of Wisconsin to promote a sustainable and livable future for all.

John Greenler, 350 Wisconsin’s Executive Director, says, “The time is now for us to address climate change, both globally and very much here in Wisconsin! As detailed in the recently released report from the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI), we are currently experiencing climate change, and it’s going to become significantly more severe. Furthermore, these impacts are disproportionately affecting low income and BIPOC communities. While these impacts are now inevitable, we still can still stave off the worst outcomes with rapid and significant action. For these reasons, we are pleased to be 350 Wisconsin and directly take on the climate crisis here in our state, as well as doing our part globally. Please join us in this effort!”

In addition to our ongoing state policy work and our efforts to stop Enbridge’s tar sands oil pipeline expansions, 350 Wisconsin is looking forward to working throughout the state for local- and county-level climate policies, renewable energy infrastructure, and other solutions for ending the climate crisis. We are also excited to deepen our climate justice work by supporting and allying with a diverse range of organizations across Wisconsin.

350 Milwaukee and 350 Stevens Point will remain our valued but independent allies in our work throughout the state.

350 Wisconsin is an unstoppable movement of everyday people from diverse communities around Wisconsin, working together for justice and an end to the climate crisis. We challenge government, community, and business leaders to rapidly implement the far-reaching changes and solutions we need.
