MILWAUKEE, WI — The Chief Deputy of the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, Dr. Denita Ball, announced today that she has earned the endorsement of Milwaukee Alders Ashanti Hamilton, Milele Coggs, and Mark Borkowski.

“Denita Ball has proven her dedication to making positive change in the community she has served for over 35 years,” said Alderman Hamilton. “Dr. Ball understands the public safety needs of Milwaukee County and I’m proud to endorse her as the right candidate to be our next Sheriff.”

“It is clear to see that Denita Ball is who we need to be Milwaukee County’s next Sheriff,” said Alderwoman Coggs. “Dr. Ball has more than 35 years of experience in law enforcement and criminal justice education, and she’s already helped make significant improvements to the Sheriff’s Office as Chief Deputy. I am confident in her abilities and she has my enthusiastic support in this race.”

“Dr. Denita Ball is the right leader to continue building on the progress that she and Sheriff Lucas have made so far,” said Alderman Borkowski. “Milwaukee County is in the midst of a historic crime wave and Dr. Ball is the best person to reverse this trend and make our county a safer place for everyone.”

“In my years in leadership with the Sheriff’s Office, the Milwaukee Police Department, and managing Bryant & Stratton College’s criminal justice program, I have gained the experience and knowledge needed to lead us through the significant challenges we’re facing,” said Dr. Ball. “I am ready to step into this new role as Milwaukee County Sheriff and work with communities hardest hit by the rise in crime. We need to put in place community-based programs and effective law enforcement strategies to reduce crime, support communities, and make Milwaukee County a better place to live.”
