Dem U.S. Senate candidate Mandela Barnes’ latest TV ad knocks GOP U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson over the taxes his business and family trust fund have paid.
The spot opens with news reports about Johnson’s former company paying no state income tax for seven years and his family trust fund not paying state taxes since 2016. The narrator then says Johnson “wrote a loophole” that gave tax cuts to himself and his biggest donors.
“And while our costs are rising, he supports a plan that would raise taxes on the middle class,” the narrator says. “Ron Johnson looks out for himself, not us.”
