MADISON — Today, Black Leaders Organizing for Communities (BLOC) joined over 160 state and local leaders in endorsing Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes for U.S. Senate.
“No one else in this primary can match Mandela Barnes’ record and commitment to service,” said Angela Lang, executive director of BLOC. “A son of Milwaukee, Mandela understands the challenges of Black working families because he’s lived them. And he will fight every day to ensure that every child in every community has a fair shot. The roots that Mandela established as a community organizer have only grown stronger — BLOC is proud to continue to stand with him now as he takes on Ron Johnson.”
“I am so grateful to have earned BLOC’s support,” said Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate. “The issues BLOC and I have been fighting to address are deeply personal for us. We are fighting for our communities, our families, and our neighborhoods. It’s going to take that kind of grassroots organizing and connection to our communities to defeat Ron Johnson this November.”
