MADISON — Today, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, released two new ads, ‘Promise,’ and ‘Crumbs’ highlighting how he will restore the American Dream and reminding Wisconsin voters how Ron Johnson’s sad attempts at lying aren’t enough to hide his record of securing a tax loophole for himself and his donors. ‘Promise’ and ‘Crumbs’ are part of a multi-million dollar ad campaign on broadcast, cable, and digital throughout the state.

While Ron Johnson attempts to distract voters from his record of supporting sending Wisconsin jobs out of state and overseas and delivering tax deductions for his wealthy donors, Mandela Barnes will be a champion for Wisconsin workers and deliver a tax cut for the middle class.

The proud son of a union family, Mandela Barnes knows firsthand the opportunities that come from building things in Wisconsin. In the Senate, he’ll fight to bring manufacturing back to Wisconsin creating thousands of family-sustaining jobs, and for a middle class tax cut to ensure every Wisconsinite has a fair shot at the American Dream.

There’s no other place where my story is possible.

My mom was a teacher. My dad worked third shift. It was our ticket to the middle class.

That’s the promise of America I’ll fight to protect.

While others send our jobs overseas.

I’ll bring manufacturing back. Invest in our own workers.

And stock our shelves with American products.

And with a middle-class tax cut you’ll be able to keep more of what you earn.

I know the promise of America.

And no one will fight harder to protect it.

I’m Mandela Barnes, and I approve this message.

Ron Johnson is at it again. Lying about my taxes.

Let’s be clear, my taxes are paid in full.

But there were times I was getting by on peanut butter sandwiches.

And that’s why I support a tax cut for the middle class.

To put more money in your pockets.

Because I know how hard you work.

But Johnson, he used his Senate seat to write a loophole that gave huge tax cuts to himself and his biggest donors.

Leaving us with crumbs.

Now that’s how we get left behind.

I’m Mandela Barnes, and I approve this message.
