MADISON — Today, Sen. Lindsay Graham re-introduced federal abortion ban legislation, and made clear it will be a top priority to enact if Sen. Ron Johnson is re-elected. Johnson has co-sponsored every version of this bill for the past ten years.

Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate released the following statement:

“Ron Johnson’s willingness to compromise women’s freedoms and put their lives at risk is disqualifying. Once again, he’s proving how out of touch he is with our lives and our values.”

Ron Johnson has a history of supporting extreme abortion bans that are out of step with Wisconsinites.

  • Ron Johnson has co-sponsored every version of Sen. Lindsay Graham’s abortion ban for the last ten years.
  • Ron Johnson fought to uphold Mississippi’s law banning abortion after 15 weeks.
  • He went so far as to say if people don’t like the abortion laws in their state they “can move.”
  • He called the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade “the correct decision” and “a victory.”
