MADISON — Today, Wausau Mayor Katie Rosenberg joined over 100 Wisconsin state and local elected leaders in endorsing Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes for U.S. Senate. Mayor Katie Rosenberg released the following statement:

“The last two years have shown us over and over again that in order to get the work done for our neighbors, we need leaders at every level who will collaborate and put the people of Wisconsin – all of Wisconsin – first. Mandela has repeatedly demonstrated that he’s that guy. As Lt. Governor, Mandela traveled to Marathon County, along with every other county in Wisconsin, working to ensure communities, small businesses, and farmers got the support they needed throughout the pandemic.

“I have no doubt that in the Senate, Mandela will deliver for communities like Wausau by investing in infrastructure like high-speed internet, building bridges into the middle class for families in every part of Wisconsin, creating good-paying jobs right here in our communities, and continuing to tackle the climate crisis that has ravaged our tourism and agriculture industries.

“From the very beginning, being raised in a proud union family by a teacher and a third shift auto worker, Mandela spent his career as a tireless advocate for working people in every corner of Wisconsin and he’s going to keep standing up for us in the Senate too.”
