Wausau, WI – Today, just five days after entering the race to be Wisconsin’s next State Treasurer, physician, former small-business owner, and mother of six, Dr. Gillian Battino, announced her campaign is entering the race with over $200,000 banked.

“One of the main things I learned during my U.S. Senate race was that it didn’t matter how good your intentions were or how hard you worked if you didn’t have the resources to communicate that message to voters. For better or for worse, that takes a well-funded, well-executed campaign to ensure our message reaches every Wisconsin voter, and that’s exactly what we intend to do,” said Battino.

“I am not a politician, and have never pretended to be. I’m a working mom who decided to run for public office because Wisconsin families deserve better. The economic stability of Wisconsinites is priority #1, and they deserve a candidate for Treasurer with a track record of integrity and accountability who can continue to build on the good work of Treas. Sarah Godlewski, and help ensure Gov. Evers is re-elected,” Battino said.

“I look forward to getting this message out to voters, and to serving them as the next Treasurer of our great state.”

Dr. Battino is a University of WI – Madison fellowship-trained radiologist. She previously served at RAD-AID, where she led the development of Guyana’s first Diagnostic Imaging residency while building Guyana’s CT and breast cancer screening programs. Gillian lives in Wausau, WI with her husband, Dr. Ben Battino, German Shepherd, Stella, two teenage children, and their laundry.
