(Brown County, Wis.) –The Brown County Board of Supervisors on Thursday unanimously approved County Executive Troy Streckenbach’s 2023 budget plan, thus providing another major property tax rate cut that reduces the rate to the 4th lowest on record.

“Brown County remains focused on providing valuable services, investing wisely in our infrastructure, and maintaining a strong fiscal house,” says Streckenbach. “Thank you to all the Brown County Supervisors who approved this plan promoting historic financial achievements not seen in many years.”

The 2023 mill rate will decrease by 40 cents, from $3.72 to $3.32, which is the lowest rate in a budget since 1984. By the end of 2023, Brown County will have paid off over $97 million in debt since Streckenbach took office.

“From investing in critical infrastructure to improving health and public safety and to helping improve access to youth literacy and natural resources, this budget plan helps make Brown County a great place to live, work, and play,” says Streckenbach.
