(Brown County, Wis.) – Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach and Brown County Public Health Officer Anna Nick are announcing a partnership with Accelerated Clinical Laboratories to expand free COVID-19 testing options for the community at the Brown County Fairgrounds.
In partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Accelerated Clinical Laboratories will be providing testing onsite beginning Friday, February 4th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The testing will be held either indoors or outdoors, weather dependent, with parking available along the midway of the Fairgrounds.
“With the uptick in cases and the high demand for testing, we have been working to increase our testing capacity for our community,” says Streckenbach. “We appreciate the support from Wisconsin DHS to bring us this resource here in Brown County.”
“We saw the demand for testing here in Brown County, so Public Health requested from Wisconsin DHS this community testing site,” says Nick. “Our local healthcare systems have asked that individuals do not go to emergency rooms or urgent cares seeking COVID-19 tests for mild symptoms. This site will help reduce the burden on local hospitals and clinics while minimizing the spread of COVID.”
Although appointments are not required, pre-registering at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov may speed up your visit with test results provided in 1-2 days.
Community members do not need to be experiencing symptoms to be tested. Accelerated Clinical Laboratories will be offering PCR confirmatory tests to residents at no cost. No insurance or identification is required. Masks are required for this testing site.
Here is the current schedule of operations for the testing site:
- Friday, February 4th – 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
