APPLETON, Wis. (April 13, 2022) –  Common Ground, a community organization focused on influencing future change, is inviting the community to gain lifelong skills that will strengthen resumes and career paths, personal and professional relationships and our communities as a whole at The Golden Rule Workshop.

Led by Santiago Global Consulting’s founder Katherine Wilson, The Golden Rule Workshop focuses on strategies for effective listening and harnessing the power of inclusive dialogue to build stronger communities, establish stronger roots and acquire stronger skills.

“The Golden Rule exists in most of, if not all faith traditions and is focused on civility, equality and empathy – all skills we can continue to build and improve on in our society,” said Shawn Whitworth, lead pastor of The Mission Church and committee co-chair of Common Ground. “This workshop is important to bring our community together to engage in dialogue that can build bridges across our differences and shape a united, inclusive future.”

Participants will engage in the free, interactive workshop on Wednesday, April 27 from 12 – 2:30 p.m. on Zoom, learning critical skills in deescalating conflict, building authentic relationships despite differences and acquiring valuable communication tools that can be used at home, in the community and in the workplace.

In addition to its community-wide workshop on April 27, Common Ground has begun privately offering The Golden Rule Workshop to area businesses.

“We partnered with Common Ground to offer The Golden Rule Workshop to all Boldt employees because we believe the tools gained will help create a more productive, inclusive and welcoming work environment.” said Emily Haupt, vice president of talent strategies at Boldt. “We know that by investing time in employees learning and practicing these skills, we can strengthen communication and understanding within teams and the organization as a whole.”
