EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, Wisconsin Rapids Firefighters Local 425 announced their endorsement of Rebecca Cooke, the only working-class candidate in the race, in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District ahead of the upcoming August 9 primary. Local 425 cited Rebecca’s demonstrated commitment to public safety, workers’ rights, and economic security in declaring their support.

Rebecca said Thursday, “I’m proud to have Wisconsin Rapids Local 425 by our side in this campaign for our shared future and way of life. My brother is a longtime union firefighter here in Wisconsin, and I know the challenges facing first responders and retirees when it comes to health, safety, wages, and benefits. I’m running for Congress because our communities deserve better – I’m in this fight to work tirelessly for working families and ensure everyone who calls Wisconsin home can thrive.”

This latest endorsement follows recent endorsements from Eau Claire Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 487, International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 7, Stevens Point Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 484, trusted leaders including former U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Interior and head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs Ada Deer and former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton, and dozens of small business owners and community advocates eager for a voice for working families in Congress.
