MADISON, Wis. (June 15, 2022) – Local Deloitte professionals recently used their annual Impact Day to support local Madison charities and address critical community needs around the globe. Team members gathered in person and remotely on June 10 to donate their time to benefit local children, veterans, and women and girls in developing countries.

Through this effort, part of Deloitte’s national Impact Day, more than 2,500 healthy snack packs were purchased and assembled for United Way of Dane County to help local schools reduce hunger among their students.

“Deloitte and United Way of Dane County have been long-standing partners and when we heard that they were eager to get their employees volunteering, as well as how passionate they were about health initiatives, we knew it was going to be a great fit. So, we put together a snack pack project for all their company employees,” said Hannah Stowell, Corporate and Community Program manager for United Way of Dane County.

Other Deloitte professionals biked in World Bicycle Relief’s global fundraiser Pedal to Empower, raising $50,000 and supporting women and girls in need with life-changing bicycles, while their colleagues wrote personalized holiday messages of support and inspiration for patients at the local William S. Middleton Veterans Hospital.

“Day in and day out, our Deloitte team lives, works and gives back here in Madison and across the country, but it’s especially evident on our annual Impact Day as to what a difference our team collectively can make to benefit those in need,” said Russ Pederson, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP, and the leader of Deloitte’s State of Wisconsin account.

Deloitte, with hundreds of Wisconsin-based professionals, has been a long-time supporter of United Way of Dane County, World Bicycle Relief and Wisconsin veteran-focused initiatives. In fact, Deloitte is one of only seven Vets Ready Employers certified by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.

Deloitte began its annual day of service more than 20 years ago as a way to activate all of its offices nationwide on one single day to make an #ImpactThatMatters. This year, Deloitte professionals joined together with local nonprofits in 80 communities to make an impact on more than 1,000 different projects.
