MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in partnership with area water-sector employers will host the One Water Career Fair on Aug. 24 for members of the public interested in careers in the water industry.

Employers on-site include the DNR, Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewerage District (MMSD), Milwaukee Water Works (MWW), Veolia Water Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Water Commons, Badger Meter, J.F. Ahern, Michels, Gestra, Marek Landscaping, Ramboll, Stantec and Xylem.

Organized labor groups, the Building and Construction Trades Council and the Laborers Union (LiUNA) will participate, as well as other public sector employers such as Milwaukee County Parks and the Milwaukee Department of Public Works.

In addition to learning about current openings and connecting directly with employers, attendees can get help crafting or polishing up their resume. Individuals looking for a new job or a career change are encouraged to attend, as are high school students interested in internships and career options. Pre-registration for this service is requested: www.onewaterourwater.com.

The collaborative effort among water sector employers is part of an increasingly popular industry philosophy known as One Water, which envisions managing all water – drinking water, wastewater, storm water, and grey water – in an integrated, inclusive, and sustainable manner. A national One Water Summit will take pace in Milwaukee in early September.
