MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) welcomes Phillips-Medisize, a Molex company, and its Oaklawn and St. Croix Meadows facilities to the state’s Green Tier program. With the addition of the two facilities, all 13 Phillips-Medisize Wisconsin facilities are now Green Tier participants.

The DNR’s Green Tier program recognizes organizations committed to going above and beyond compliance to continually improve their environmental performance using an environmental management system. Tier 1 of Green Tier encourages, recognizes and rewards companies committed to superior environmental performance.

“The Department of Natural Resources is proud to welcome these Phillips-Medisize facilities into Green Tier, expanding our partnership to include all 13 of the Phillips-Medisize locations in Wisconsin,” said Dave Siebert, DNR External Services Division Administrator. “As each facility strives to reduce their environmental footprint, they prove they are leaders in their communities and Wisconsin by managing operations to protect our shared natural resources into the future.”

Phillips-Medisize is committed to providing environmentally conscious practices during the design and manufacture of its products to ensure products are developed sustainably.

“Our commitment to providing products and services that help people improve their lives is equally matched by our commitment to environmental stewardship and respecting the environment,” said Paul Chaffin, President, Medical and Pharmaceutical Solutions, Molex. “The work we do matters, and so does the way we collaborate with – and ultimately impact – our employees, customers and communities.”

The company’s Oaklawn facility, located at 412 Red Cedar St., Menomonie, produces components for essential pharmaceutical products. The St. Croix Meadows facility, located at 2202 Carmichael Rd, Hudson, manufactures groundbreaking solutions for leading healthcare and life science companies.

Both Oaklawn and St. Croix Meadows have an ISO 14001 certified environmental management system. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted certification standard for businesses to manage and improve their environmental impacts.

Future goals at Oaklawn include reducing hazardous waste by 5%, electrical consumption by 5% and landfill waste by 10%. St. Croix Meadows will focus on reducing waste by 5% while reducing their environmental footprint.
