State Superintendent Dr. Jill Underly issued the following statement today regarding the 2022 general election:

“The results of this 2022 election make it clear that Wisconsin voters – parents, caregivers, teachers, first-time voters, and voters who have been participating for decades – know what is best for our children, and what is best for our state. And what is best for our state is strong support for public schools, and a rejection of divisive and hateful rhetoric. Now, it’s up to us as elected leaders to strengthen that support and build on our moral leadership with robust funding and innovative policies, and I look forward to collaborating with all elected officials to champion our children and secure our future. At the end of the day, regardless of partisan affiliation, our voters and our elected officials care about all of our children, and I will work with anyone and everyone to ensure their safety, academic success, and overall well-being.

“Elections are about showing up. They are about leadership – moral, visionary, impactful leadership. So is governing. I look forward to showing up and working with all of Wisconsin’s elected leaders to do what is best for our children, our schools, our educators, and our state.”
