MADISON – The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) today released the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey data for the month of December 2021.

In brief, the JOLTS data for Wisconsin showed:

  • Wisconsin hires increased slightly over the month to 122,000. Hires increased over the month in Iowa as well.
  • Job openings in Wisconsin decreased month-over-month to 204,000. Openings in Michigan also declined month-over-month.
  • Wisconsin quits decreased marginally over the month to 90,000. The United States, Illinois, and Iowa all posted monthly declines.
