MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Milwaukee Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic has been endorsed by UAW SE WI CAP Council.

UAW SE WI CAP Council released the following statement regarding their endorsement: “We endorse Marina because she has always stood shoulder to shoulder with organized labor as a public official and political leader. Her record of supporting unions and advocating for working families tells us what her values are and how she would approach the difficult job of Mayor of Milwaukee”

“UAW is a bedrock of Milwaukee and I am honored to have their endorsement,” said Alderwoman Dimitrijevic. “Our city is strong when organized labor is strong, and as Mayor I will always fight for Milwaukee’s working families. From fair wages, to paid leave, to the right to collectively bargain, I’ll bring an organizer’s mentality to City Hall and I’ll build coalitions to get things done.“

The endorsement from UAW SE WI CAP Council continues a strong run of endorsements for Dimitrijevic since the field for Mayor was set last week. To date, Marina has been endorsed by a diverse group of labor and progressive groups across Milwaukee including Voces de la Frontera, AFT 212-Milwaukee Area Technical College, Milwaukee Teamsters Local 200 and Teamsters Local 314, and Women Lead Wisconsin. Marina also previously received the endorsement of the majority of the Milwaukee school board.
