The Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition (WDVC) is joining with other organizations to celebrate Municipal Clerks Week, May 1-7, 2022. The 53rd Annual Municipal Clerks Week is celebrated throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries and recognizes the essential role Municipal Clerks play in local government.
The WDVC thanks Wisconsin clerks for their hard work to welcome every voter equally and be sensitive to the dignity and rights of voters with disabilities. We applaud their efforts to make elections accessible to those with disabilities by setting up the accessible voting machines, positioning machines for privacy and accessibility, messaging voters online, setting up curbside voting and supporting absentee voting.
We invited community members to recognize their municipal clerk and received responses from over 40 community members recognizing 33 municipal clerks across Wisconsin. The submission recognizing Wisconsin clerks may be viewed on our website at https://disabilityvote.org/
