Ahead of Tax Day on Monday, April 18, the DNC is launching a digital ad buy in Wisconsin targeted to Google searches for tax services. The ads will remind Wisconsinites of Republicans’ plan to raise taxes on 32% of people in the state. The ads will also link to GOPtaxhike.com – a handy website that breaks down who could pay more under NRSC Chair Rick Scott and Republicans’ tax plan.

See below for the ad:

“Wisconsinites deserve to know what the Republican tax plan would mean for them – and for nearly a third of Wisconsinites, it could mean higher taxes,” said DNC spokesperson Ryan Thomas. “While Democrats are working to lower costs and make your hard-earned money go further, there’s a good chance you could be paying higher taxes if Republicans get their way.”

The Republican tax plan could raise taxes, on average, on child care workers, home health workers, and farmworkers, as well as many police officers and firefighters. It could also raise taxes on over half of all seniors, 73% of couples making less than $90k a year and filing jointly, two-thirds of people making less than $40k a year, and more.

While even Senator Scott is struggling to defend the new GOP plan to raise taxes on working Americans and sunset Social Security and Medicare in five years, President Biden’s Billionaire Minimum Income Tax would make sure that the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share and would apply only to the top one one-hundredth of one percent (0.01%) of American households.
