Days after Toney slams Kaul for backlog in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) referrals and demands investigation into delays, he filed a public records request regarding the ICAC Commander’s departure.

MADISON, Wis. – Today, Fond du Lac County District Attorney and law enforcement’s choice for Attorney General, Eric Toney, filed a public records request after receiving information that the ICAC Task Force Commander had recently left her post at the Department of Justice.

Toney released the following statement:

“Today, after being informed by multiple sources that the ICAC Task Force Commander, Dana Miller, recently departed the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) at Kaul’s DOJ, I filed an open records request asking for documentation of Miller’s departure.“Based on information I’ve received, as recent as September of this year, Josh Kaul failed to provide proper resources to DCI resulting in a backlog of over 1,000 ICAC referrals – leaving child predators free to roam our streets and putting children at risk. Now, it appears an important member of the ICAC Task Force, the ICAC Task Force Commander, Dana Miller, who supervised ICAC operations, has departed from the DOJ. The backlog of ICAC referrals is another example of Josh Kaul’s failed leadership and the apparent dysfunction Kaul has created at the Department of Justice. Wisconsin families and our children cannot afford another four years of Kaul’s mismanagement.”

ICAC referrals include child predators who:
– Possess child pornography
– Obtain nude photos of children over the internet; and
– Coerce children to meet them for the commission of heinous and deviant sexual crimes.
