LA CROSSE, Wis. — In case you missed it, Governor Tony Evers visited The Good Fight Community Center yesterday, which provides at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the La Crosse area with academic support, social support, and physical and mental fitness.

Gov. Evers met with parents and kids to talk about the importance of public education, and toured the facility.

As a lifelong educator, Gov. Evers knows firsthand how important a quality education is — that’s why during his first term, he’s brought both parties together to fund Wisconsin public schools at their highest level in nearly two decades and signed the largest increase in special education funding in a decade. Gov. Evers recognizes the importance of education opportunities in and out of the classroom, such as those provided by The Good Fight. During his visit, Gov. Evers stated “how important it is that … not all learning happens in schools. Actually, there’s other places in kids’ lives, such as this, where they grow and learn and become better prepared for a future.”

Gov. Evers believes that every kid in Wisconsin should have access to a high-quality public education and career opportunities that allow them to achieve their dreams.
