MADISON, Wis. — Today, thanks to hundreds of grassroots supporters, Governor Tony Evers turned in more than 7,200 nomination signatures from all across Wisconsin to make it on the ballot.

At a press conference outside the State Capitol, Gov. Evers delivered remarks on what’s at stake this November, while also highlighting his common sense record of doing the right thing for Wisconsin, including cutting income taxes for the middle class by 15%, investing in public schools, and supporting small businesses and family farms.

“Today, we’re officially turning in signatures to be on the ballot for reelection,” said Gov. Evers. “This is always an exciting moment during a campaign — but today, I feel the gravity of the situation, more than ever. In all my years of public service, this may be the most important race I have ever run in.”

Gov. Evers was introduced by Britta Lindberg, a parent from Fitchburg, Patrick DePula, owner of Salvatore’s Tomato Pies, and John Swan III, secretary-treasurer and business agent for LIUNA Local No. 113.

“Gov. Evers has shown that he takes a common sense approach to the issues facing our state — delivering real results and doing the right thing for Wisconsin,” said Britta Lindberg. “This approach makes him a role model for our children, showing them how to solve problems, not create them. Not put up roadblocks. As a working mother, I know that there’s only one candidate in this race with a record of doing the right thing for Wisconsin children and families, and that is Governor Evers.”

“Small businesses are the heart of our communities — when we grow, everyone in Wisconsin benefits,” said Patrick DePula. “Today, as Gov. Evers turns in his nomination signatures, I’m proud to support his re-election campaign — because he’s doing the right thing for small businesses and for Wisconsin.”

“I am thankful that we have a governor who recognizes the importance of teaching our students about all the opportunities available to them when they graduate from high school,” said John Swan III. “College isn’t always the best option for everyone, and for many students, technical education and apprenticeships are the affordable option and a great pathway to a fulfilling career.
