MADISON, Wis. – Today, Family Friendly Action PAC Wisconsin released the following statement, applauding President Joe Biden’s signing of the Inflation Reduction Act into law.

Brita Olsen, Family Friendly Action PAC Wisconsin State Director:

“The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 is a historic bill that will bring critical relief to families by lowering the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs. Specifically, this bill provides Medicare with the ability to negotiate the price of prescription drugs – for the first time ever.

“Because of President Joe Biden’s leadership, and the work of Democrats in Congress, families across Wisconsin and the United States will finally have access to the essential medications and care they need to stay alive and healthy.

“We are grateful to Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Congressman Ron Kind, Congresswoman Gwen Moore and Congressman Mark Pocan for advocating for the needs of Wisconsin families and ensuring this bill made it to President Biden’s desk.

“Unfortunately, Sen. Ron Johnson and the Republicans in Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation continue to ignore their responsibility in representing the needs of working families by collectively voting “No” on this bill.

“Sen. Johnson’s vote against this bill further emphasizes our need to vote him out of office. Mandela Barnes, the Democratic nominee who will face Johnson in November, has indicated his support for the Inflation Reduction Act, reaffirming not only our support for Barnes, but his commitment to working families across the Badger State.”
