MADISON, Wis. – Today, Family Friendly Wisconsin released the following statement, celebrating the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 in the U.S. Senate yesterday, and the positive impact it will have on the lives of working families across the Badger State.
Brita Olsen, state director of Family Friendly Wisconsin:
“The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 is a historic bill that will bring critical relief to families by lowering the costs of healthcare and prescription drugs. Families across Wisconsin will finally have access to the care they need to stay alive and healthy. Specifically, this bill provides Medicare with the ability to negotiate the price of prescription drugs – for the first time ever.
“While we are grateful to Sen. Tammy Baldwin for her support in the passage of this bill, Sen. Ron Johnson unfortunately continued his pattern of ignoring the needs of working families by voting “No” on this historic bill.
“Wisconsinites deserve a Senator who fights for them, and Family Friendly Wisconsin knows it is past time for Sen. Johnson to go.”
“We also urge all members of the Wisconsin Congressional Delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives to pass this bill swiftly.
